The scientific name of mother \/the third sound: sour berries, often called golden berries in English, also known as Peruvian sour pulp and crape myrtle. Originated in the Andes, when it was introduced to China is unknown, so the northeast people also call it Mushroom Niang, as well as Sweet Mushroom Niang, Yellow Mushroom Niang and Pitaya. At present, the main planting countries are Mongolia, Australia, New Zealand and Northeast China.

Why it is called mushroom fruit has been impossible to study. Personally, I think the source of this name should be the transliteration when it was introduced into China. Another explanation is that this exotic fruit, after removing the skin, is bright and watery, hence its name.
