Effects and functions of Chai Hu Gui Zhi Tang
1. Fever, mild malignant cold, branch pain, mild vomiting, subcardiac branches, neurosis, menopausal syndromes, decongestive syndromes.
2. Duodenal ulcer: Chai Hu Gui Zhi Tang has better efficacy in duodenal ulcer with ineffective H2 receptor antagonist. One dose per day, water decoction, 10 days for a course of treatment. The results showed that Chai Hu Gui Zhi Tang could inhibit the secretion of pepsin, thus reducing the damage of gastric juice to the mucosa. Meanwhile, Chai Hu Gui Zhi Tang could affect the secretion of gastrin and strengthen the defense of duodenal mucosa.
3. Epilepsy: It is believed that the phenomenon of epileptic discharge is the release of calcium stored in cells, and the change of calcium binding state causes the change of intracellular proteins and calcium-related cell membrane ion channels, leading to sudden pathological discharge of neurons. Chai Hu Gui Zhi Tang can inhibit some of the changes associated with each step, thus achieving an antiepileptic effect. This formula was used to treat 84 cases of epileptic patients, once a day, 10 doses for 1 course of treatment. The result was 25 cases were cured, 41 cases had obvious effect, 13 cases were improved and 5 cases were invalid. The total effective rate is up to 94.05%.
4. Repeated colds: repeated colds are mostly related to people with low immune function. Research has found that Chai Hu Gui Zhi Tang can enhance the body immune function. Experiments have shown that Chai Hu Gui Zhi Tang can differentiate hematopoietic stem cells into lymphocytes and activate the immune function of normal young rats. It has been reported that Chai Hu Gui Zhi Tang has been used to treat 18 cases of acute upper respiratory tract inflammation in children prone to colds. The results showed that 12 cases were significantly effective, 4 cases were effective and 2 cases were ineffective. The most obvious improvement in symptoms was found to be fever, followed by appetite, cough, sneezing, and runny nose.
5. Viral infectious fever: Chaihu Guizhi Tang has good antipyretic, antiviral and anti-infectious effects. It can be used to treat fever caused by some viral infections and is effective in convulsions caused by infections. It is reported that 112 cases of viral infectious fever were treated with Gypsum, Chuanxiong and Cangzhu once a day, or twice a day in severe cases. Generally 5 doses are effective, and the total effective rate is 87.5%.
6. Neurasthenia: Neurasthenia is caused by an imbalance between excitation and inhibition of the cerebral cortex. Commonly have headache, dizziness, anxiety and irritability, fatigue, inattention, insomnia and forgetfulness, palpitation and shortness of breath, decreased appetite, abdominal distension and fullness, and even skin allergies, impotence and spermatorrhea. Studies have shown that Chai Hu Gui Zhi Tang has a certain regulatory effect on the human endocrine system, especially on the excitation and inhibition of the cerebral cortex, can regulate and eliminate a series of symptoms caused by neurasthenia. Some people use Chai Hu Gui Zhi Tang to treat 60 cases of neurasthenia, one dose per day, 14 days for a course of treatment, generally 1~2 courses of treatment can be effective.
7. Cerebral ischemia: recurrent episodes of localized cerebral blood flow is reduced transiently, and the corresponding supply area has transient neurological symptoms. About 25~40% of them develop into complete cerebral infarction within 5 years. Experiments have shown that Chai Hu Gui Zhi Tang has a protective effect on ischemic damage to cerebral neurons, and at the same time promotes blood circulation, increases cerebral blood flow, and improves cerebral ischemia.
