Pinus tabulaeformis, a positive tree species, is deeply rooted, photophobic, barren-resistant and wind-resistant. It can grow on acidic, neutral or calcareous loess with deep soil layer and good drainage at -25℃. Heartwood is yellowish reddish brown, sapwood is yellowish white, with straight texture, fine structure, hard material and durability.
Pinus tabulaeformis can be used as materials for buildings, poles, pillars, shipbuilding, appliances, furniture and wood fiber industry. It is a unique tree species in China, producing in Northeast China, Central Plains, Northwest China and Southwest China.
