August 7th or 8th of Gregorian calendar is the beginning of the autumn sweeping festival. The change of the whole nature is a gradual process. Beginning of autumn is the turning point when the Yang gradually closes, the Yin gradually grows, and the Yang gradually turns to the Yin. In nature, everything begins to mature from lush to bleak.

A day is defined as noon. If it is early autumn morning, it is early autumn. If it is early autumn afternoon, it is late autumn. Beginning of autumn in 2022 is at 20:28:57 on August 7, 2022, which belongs to the afternoon, so beginning of autumn is late.

Phenomenology in early autumn

Some ancient China literary works divide beginning of autumn into three periods: one is when the cool breeze blows gently; Hou Bailu was born; Waiting for three chilling cicadas. This means that after beginning of autumn, people will feel cool when it is windy, and the wind at this time is different from the hot air in summer. Then, there will be fog on the ground in the morning, and cicadas who feel gloomy in autumn will start to sing.

In fact, in most parts of our country, it is still very hot from beginning of autumn to the summer heat, and there is no such phenomenon as "cool breeze", "white dew" and "chill". According to the order of 24 solar terms, the long summer after beginning of autumn has solar terms. "Summer" means summer, but it is not summer when autumn begins. The so-called "heat is in three volts", and the last volt in the "three volts" is after the solar terms in beginning of autumn.
