Pistachio pistachio, also known as pistachio, has a large and dense inflorescence, with 3-5 male perianth, rectangle, 5-6 stamens, 3-5 female perianth, rectangle, membranous, curly eyelashes at the edge, sessile ovary, rectangle, about 1 mm long, and the style is about 0.5 mm long. The flowering period is from March to May, and the fruiting period is from July to August. Small deciduous trees, 5-7 meters high. Branchlets are stout, cylindrical, striped and lenticelled, puberulent or subglabrous, and young branches are usually hairy. Odd-pinnate compound leaves alternate, usually with 3 leaflets, sparse 5 leaflets, flat petiole, wingless or narrow wings, sessile or nearly sessile leaflets, oval or broadly elliptic, 4- 10 cm long and 2.5-6.5 cm wide, with large terminal leaflets, blunt or sharp tips, small tips, wide wedges, rounded or truncated bases and lateral ones.
The fruit is ovoid or broadly ovoid, slightly flat, with a length of 1.3-2.2 cm and a width of 1 cm, brownish yellow to purplish red, with a sharp tip, a truncated base, vestiges of the fruit stalk, slightly twisted edges, intermittent punctate protrusions on the surface, and easy cracking of the peel. The stone is 1.2-2cm long, ovoid or ovoid, sharp and smooth, with a gray tip and a hard shell, and the thickness is about1mm. The seed epidermis is grayish brown or purplish red, and the umbilical cord at the base is rectangular, with a length of about 3mm and a green to light green inside. Slight breath, slightly sweet taste.
