Edible Mint Varieties
Edible mint is a plant in the family of Labiatae, genus Mentha, and is one of the commonly used traditional Chinese medicines in China.There are four common varieties of mint, which are peppermint, spearmint, lemon mint, apple mint, and horse mint.
There are many varieties of mint, some of which are edible, such as lemon mint and apple mint.
Apple mint
Apple mint has the aroma of mint and apple, hence its name. It has thin leaves with short downy hairs on them, and has a high edible value, which can be fried, roasted, stewed, steamed, brewed in tea and coffee.
Lemon mint
Lemon mint can give off the aroma of lemon, so named, has a high ornamental value and medicinal value, can be used to treat headache, abdominal pain, toothache and other symptoms.
Peppermint
Peppermint is a hybrid variety, the smell is very strong, more as a food seasoning to eat, can be used as sauce, drinks, cold dishes, snacks and so on.
Leaf mint
Leaf mint is also called green mint, native to southern Europe, its smell is not as irritating as the ordinary mint, can be eaten, mostly used as a spice, can add flavor to the cuisine.
