"Jing" is a Chinese character. This character is first seen in the Western Zhou Jinwen. The early Jinwen glyphs of the character "荆", with a human figure on the right and two "X "s on the lower left, indicate a kind of thorn, and the whole picture of the character indicates that the thorns of Jing stabbed into the hands and feet of people.
