Pharyngeal reflex
Pharyngeal reflex is an innate physiological response of human beings, mainly to prevent foreign bodies from entering the body. When something irritates the throat, the pharyngeal reflex will be triggered, which is often manifested as nausea, retching and even vomiting. Part of nausea and retching caused by brushing teeth in the morning is one of the manifestations of pharyngeal reflex.
chronic pharyngitis
Patients with chronic pharyngitis may indeed have symptoms of nausea and retching when brushing their teeth, mainly because the pharyngeal mucosa of patients is stimulated by inflammation for a long time, and the posterior pharyngeal wall often has sticky secretions, so they are more likely to be stimulated when brushing their teeth.
Misunderstanding of brushing teeth
Nausea and retching when brushing your teeth are mostly in the misunderstanding of brushing your teeth. Brushing your teeth with cold water, brushing your teeth too hard, brushing your teeth sideways, using your toothbrush for one year, brushing your teeth for a short time, not only early but not late, are all misunderstandings that need to be paid attention to.
