The common breeding methods of bowl lotus are lotus seed and lotus root (lotus root whip and lotus root bud do not communicate), so most of them are sold in the market. Due to the large gene pool, gene diversity and instability, there are many varieties of lotus, and the diversity and instability of gene expression are mostly through the continuation and expression of seeds. Therefore, using this feature, most breeders get lotus seeds through artificial pollination and hybridization, then plant lotus seeds, observe and get new varieties through elimination and screening. The seed lotus root is obtained by cutting the parent plant's son lotus root or grandson lotus root separately, and there is no new gene doping, so the performance traits are relatively stable. Therefore, it often happens that the mother plant blooms with white flowers and the lotus root blooms with white flowers. However, when the mother plant pollinates naturally, the lotus seeds produced by the same lotus show different situations: some are red, some are red, white and colorful, and some are not flowering but only grow leaves.
