Seed collection in September-/kloc-October, sowing in April-May, and planting in June. The seedlings of Euphorbia helioscopia grow slowly and are sown in the open seedbed in April-May in spring. The optimum sowing temperature is 20℃-25℃. Because the seeds are covered with fluff, the emergence of seedlings is slow. In order to promote their rapid emergence, germination should be accelerated before sowing.
2. Accelerating germination
Before sowing, you can soak the seeds in warm water for one day or cold water for two days, then squeeze out the water, dry it a little, and mix with plant ash or fine sand, the amount of which is 2-3 times that of the seeds, so as to make it loose and convenient for sowing. The seeds are large, about 400 grains/gram. Ordinary sowing sites can be used, and sandy loam plots with abundant sunshine, high groundwater level, good drainage and loose and fertile soil should be selected as seedbeds. After sowing, cover the soil slightly, control the temperature at 20℃-25℃, and the seedlings can emerge in about 10- 15 days After the seedlings are fully grown, the seedlings should be planted once, so that they have a certain growth space and will not cover each other. After the seedlings are planted, they should be watered with 1000 times of urea solution, and the leaves should be sprayed in time after the fertilizer is applied to prevent the fertilizers from burning the seedlings.
