It is best to artificially pollinate pumpkin vines before 8 am. When entering the full flowering period, the male flowers are mainly in the early stage, and when the flowers are about to open in the morning, the male flowers and pedicels can be picked and eaten together.
When female flowers begin to grow, they should be topdressing with decomposed organic fertilizer, mainly phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, to reduce or stop harvesting tender shoot tips.
Usually, 3~5 pumpkins per plant can grow normally. Too many young pumpkins or female flowers should be drained, and the top stems and vines should be properly topped to avoid insufficient nutrient supply.
If the melons on the vine grow bigger, they can be hung in a solid place with a net bag, and the melons close to the ground can be isolated from the soil with foam plastic or wooden boards so as not to affect the growth of pumpkins.
