Wu Jinghong, an overseas Chinese engaged in the catering industry in the United States, returned to China in 1985 and founded the first "California Beef Noodle King". Registered a trademark in China in 1993. Registered in the United States in 1996, the trademark belongs to Manulife International Company of the United States owned by Wu Jinghong.
Another "Mr. Li California Beef Noodle Restaurant" was founded by Chongqing native Li Beiqi, an overseas Chinese in California. From 1972 to 1974, under the name of Beef Noodles King, he opened three restaurants in Chinatown, Monterey Park and Alhamburg in Los Angeles, which expanded to seven in 1979, and then opened a franchise store in China under the name of Beef Noodles King in California. ;

Beef noodles are not common in California, USA. The raw materials of the above two "California Beef Noodles", including noodles, beef, spices and production technology, all come from China. The name "California" is just a marketing strategy.
