Introduction

The Leaning Tower of Pisa is located in the province of Tuscany, Italy. The Leaning Tower of Pisa is located on the Piazza della Miradione in the north of the city of Pisa, Italy. Scattered across the square's large lawn are a group of religious buildings, the Duomo (built 1063-13th century), the Baptistery (built 1153-14th century), the Bell Tower (known as the Leaning Tower of Pisa) and the Cemetery (built 1278-15th century), all of which have facades of The Leaning Tower of Pisa is located on the site of Pisa's Great Hall. The Leaning Tower of Pisa is located behind Pisa Cathedral.

The bell tower was built in 1173 and was designed to be vertical, but soon after construction began it tilted due to uneven foundations and soft soil, and was completed in 1372, with the tower tilting to the southeast.

The Leaning Tower of Pisa is an icon of the city of Pisa, and in 1987 it was selected as a World Heritage Site by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, along with the adjacent Cathedral, Baptistery and Cemetery, for its great influence on Italian architecture from the 11th to the 14th centuries.
