How to find the confirmed renal cell carcinoma? What are the imaging examination methods for renal cancer?
Renal cell carcinoma is a malignant tumor originating from renal parenchyma and renal tubular epithelial system. The full academic name is renal cell carcinoma, also known as renal adenocarcinoma, abbreviated as RCC. For the diagnosis of renal cell carcinoma, the commonly used imaging methods are B-ultrasound, CT, MRI and X-ray.

Four imaging methods of renal cell carcinoma

1, abdominal ultrasound or color Doppler ultrasound

Most renal tumors were first discovered by B-ultrasound. About 80% of incidental renal cell carcinoma was first discovered by B-ultrasound. But generally speaking, it is difficult to find renal tumors with a diameter less than 1.5cm by B-ultrasound.

2. Abdominal CT plain scan and enhanced scan

This test is the current gold standard for the diagnosis of kidney cancer. At present, about 90% renal cell carcinoma is diagnosed by upper abdominal plain scan and enhanced CT. CT plays a certain role in judging tumor staging before operation.

3. Magnetic vibration inspection

MRI has the same diagnostic value as CT in renal cell carcinoma, but it is usually used to evaluate the existence and location of renal vena cava tumor thrombus in clinic. The latest research shows that MRI can judge the pathological types and stages of renal cell carcinoma.

4. Abdominal contrast-enhanced ultrasound

At present, it is mainly used for the diagnosis of renal tumors with iodine allergy and impaired renal function. In addition, it has clinical value in the diagnosis of cystic renal cell carcinoma.
