Farewell Ji refers to Farewell Yu Ji.

When the Chu and Han Dynasties were fighting each other, Xiang Yu, the king of the Western Chu Dynasty, fought a decade-long war with Liu Bang for the throne. In the end, Xiang Yu was defeated at Wujiang River and knew that the situation was over, so on the eve of the breakout, he had to say goodbye to Yu Ji and finally cut his own throat and died.

Yu Ji often accompanied Xiang Yu on his campaigns, the late Chu-Han struggle, Xiang Yu tends to lose, in 202 BC, was besieged by the Han army in Gaixia (today's Lingbi County, Anhui Province, south of), fewer soldiers and food, the night heard the song of Chu on all sides, the mourning situation has gone, facing Yu Ji, in the tent of the wine and sad song: "Powerful mountains and the gas cover the world, when not good, Zhui does not die, Zhui does not die, but can not be helped, YUXI YuXi! What can I do?" The lyrics of the song are so bleak and sad, and the sentiment is so sentimental that it is known as the "Gaixia Song".

This powerful figure has also shown the lamentation of his children and heroes. Yu Ji, who accompanied him, drew her sword and danced, and sang with her, "The Han soldiers have already conquered the land, and the Chu song is heard in all directions; the king's spirit is exhausted, and the concubine has nothing to live for." (History called "Gaixia Song" or "and Gaixia Song") The song finished cutting her own throat to break Xiang Yu's personal feelings, and to stimulate Xiang Yu's fighting spirit, hoping to break through the siege victoriously.
