Typha latifolia is extremely tolerant to fertilizers, so it is generally planted in muddy fields with deep and fertile soil. If the soil is barren and hardened, the grass buds are thin and thin, the quality is reduced, and it is easy to break when harvesting.
2, planting time and density:
Jianshui grass buds can be planted all year round in areas with warm climate and basically frost-free winter, but it is best to plant them in March-April. Grass buds are mainly propagated by ramets. When planting, select healthy seedlings germinated by the mother plant and plant them at the spacing of1.0m×1.5m. The planting should be stable and not too deep. In Huai 'an, cattail is mostly cultivated in lakes. Picking cattail leaves as paper and packaging materials is the main cultivation purpose, and field cultivation is rare.
3. On-site management:
The growth period and harvest period of grass buds are very long. When planting, in addition to applying base fertilizer, topdressing should be carried out in stages, 3-4 times a year. Green manure and decomposed pig manure are the best base fertilizers, while urea and compound fertilizer are the best topdressing. Generally, topdressing is 5- 10 kg per mu at a time. Weeds should be removed in time during the growth period to control aphids and their sheath blight. Typha can be harvested continuously for 2 ~ 3 years once planted. After three years, the output will drop, and another field will be needed. In order to obtain high yield, it is generally replanted once a year.
4. Harvest and storage:
Grass buds can be harvested 30 ~ 40 days after planting, with the highest yield in April ~ August and the best quality in May and September. Harvest once every 5 ~ 6 days, with a yield of 40 ~ 50 kg per mu. Harvest once in autumn and winter about half a month, with an yield of 20-25 kg per mu, 30-40 times a year, and an yield of 750- 1000 kg per mu.
