Dominican
I'm from the **** and country of Dominica, so I might be a little biased in putting Dominican food as my top choice, but I can't deny how delicious Dominican and Caribbean food is in general.
Dominican pies (a.k.a. meat empanadas) are my favorite, especially the mural cheese-filled kind. The ground beef is also delicious.
Moro (rice and beans) is another favorite of mine. In most cultures, rice and beans are served separately, but Dominicans cook them together to give them a whole new flavor. It's easy to make, try it for yourself! Moro (rice and beans) is another favorite of mine. It's easy to make, try it for yourself!Dominicans are also known as "Los Tres Golpes" for this special dish, which consists of mashed plantains, fried eggs, fried salami and fried cheese. It's ridiculously caloric, but worth every penny!
2. Greece
If you've never had a lamb gyro, stop reading this and order one now. The Greeks both cook and dry the meat, which is a whole new experience for me. Make sure you have extra yogurt cucumber sauce because you're going to want it!
When you order a gyro, you better order some falafel too! Trust me, you'll want more than one. The extra yogurt cucumber dressing will come in handy too! You won't even feel too bad about eating these because they're just made with herbs and chickpeas!
3. Southern U.S. (French Descent)
I had never eaten French Descent food until I met my fiancée. Since then, we always stop and buy it wherever we can. While I'm not much of a seafood fan, I do love everything else about Cajun cuisine.
When I first had okra soup, I never knew that so many different ingredients could taste so good together. Chicken, sausage and shrimp were the basic ingredients, along with vegetables like celery, peppers and onions. Soup has never tasted so good!
Itofi is a meal that never goes to waste around me. It's made with similar ingredients as the okra soup, but it's lighter, creamier, and I could eat a whole can without a care in the world. Honest.
The jambalaya also has sausage, shrimp and rice .... I think I'm obsessed with these ingredients!
