What is the difference between wine and sherry?
Port wine and sherry are both a kind of wine, and both belong to alcohol fortified wine. Many friends don't know the difference between the two kinds of wine. Let me introduce them to you.

How much is the wine?

Port wine is a fortified wine with high alcohol content, generally between 17 and 22 degrees. Porter wine is made by adding grape distilled alcohol to kill yeast and stop fermentation before grape juice is fermented.

The difference between sherry and wine

The difference between sherry and porter lies in the aging process. Although port wine stops fermentation by adding neutral wine and leaves some sugar to increase alcohol content, sherry will go through the whole fermentation process and then mix with distilled wine.

Port wine tastes rich and sweet, slightly stronger than many other types of wine. Compared with other types of wine, it contains more alcohol (from 19% to 23%). This can be explained by adding distilled grape alcohol before the end of fermentation, and all the sugar is transferred to the alcohol. On the other hand, sherry is dry and weak. Generally speaking, it contains 1 1- 12% alcohol, although it is about 15% for fino or amontillado and 17.5% for oloroso.

Compared with sherry, wine may undergo reduction or oxidative aging. In the first case, it is stored in a bottle and will never be exposed to air. In the second case, put the wine in a wooden bucket and accumulate some oxygen.

All kinds of wines

1. White porter

White port wine is the most common variety of port wine and the cheapest. In terms of sweetness, the sweetness of white port wine is medium in port wine, which is acceptable to most people. At the same time, because of its low price, it is the port wine that most people usually drink.

2. Dark brown wine

Brown port wine is a kind of wine with high alcohol content and long storage time, so it is dark in color, slightly brown and low in sweetness, and it also belongs to a widely existing variety of port wine.

3. Ruby wine

Ruby port wine is an excellent variety of port wine, with rich and delicious flavor, the most complicated production process and exquisite storage, so the price is also the highest in port wine.

4. Pink Potter

This is a new wine variety. In addition to the rich aroma of grapes, cherries and strawberries are also added, so it tastes very juicy and the pink color is very tender, so it is a wine that many girls like very much, and the degree is relatively low, so it is safer to drink.

Does Potter need to sober up?

Because port wine will be bottled without filtration after aging in oak barrels, a large number of sediments produced during aging need to be sobered up. Porter wine bought in the store must be placed upright for a period of time before opening the bottle, so that the sediment can gather at the bottom of the bottle, and then the wine is poured into the decanter to separate the wine from the sediment.
