Ferritin is a complex of ferritin and iron ions, and the adult male is 15-200, the adult female is 12- 150μg/L, and the children are slightly lower. Elevated ferritin is a common phenomenon of iron accumulation in the body, such as primary hemochromatosis, inflammation, tumor, leukemia, hemolytic anemia, aplastic anemia, liver and so on. The decrease of ferritin is mainly caused by iron deficiency anemia, massive blood loss, malnutrition and long-term diarrhea. If the serum ferritin is lower than 15 μ g/L, it can be diagnosed as iron deficiency.
Pay attention to give children more iron-containing foods, such as kelp, seaweed, fungus, tomatoes, animal liver, lean pork, fish and shrimp eggs, oysters and so on. Usually, you can stir-fry in an iron pan at home, which also helps to supplement iron.
