Chestnut pumpkin is a new variety of early-maturing pumpkin with small melon type. The fruit is oblate, the peel has longitudinal stripes, and the meat is thick and orange.
Pumpkin originated in the American continent, including two origin centers, one is Mexico and Central and South America, and its species include American pumpkin, Chinese pumpkin, Mexican pumpkin and black seed pumpkin. The other is South America, the birthplace of Indian pumpkin. The diversity of pumpkin producing areas, long-term natural evolution and artificial selection have formed the diversity of pumpkin population, geographical distribution and development and utilization.
