Characteristics

The head is triangular; the top of the head is covered with many small scales, and the small scales on the back of the head are weak and angular.

Nostril scales moderately large, visible from the dorsal surface. Right and left inter-nasal scales small, separated by fine scales.

Upper lip scales 10, the 3rd scale being the largest, with a suture between the first upper lip scale and the nasal scale; lower lip scales 12-13.

1 nasal scale.

The rounded nostrils are situated in it; between the nasal scale and the buccal fossa there are 1 or 2 small scales.

Flap 2 between eye and nasal scales; supraocular scales larger, narrowly elongate, surrounded by 10 small scales; between right and left supraocular scales there are 11 to 13 small scales, a few 9 or 14.

Body scales in 21 or 23-21-15 rows, except for the outermost row which is smooth, the rest ribbed.

Ventral scales 159-171, anal scales single, subcaudal scales 60-74 pairs.

The dorsal and lateral surfaces are grass-green; the outermost row of body scales has a distinctive longitudinal white stripe, and in some cases there is also a red stripe under the white stripe.

Head lime green, some also with 1 white stripe on the side of the head, joining the white stripe on the side of the body.

Ventral surface yellowish. Tail end reddish brown or brown.
