Located in the hinterland of Asian continent, Alashan League is an inland plateau, far away from the ocean and surrounded by mountains, forming a typical continental climate and suitable for planting Cistanche deserticola. Cistanche deserticola is a tall herb with a height of 40- 160 cm, and most of it is underground. The section of cistanche deserticola is brown, with light brown dotted vascular bundles arranged in wavy rings. Cistanche deserticola is called Cistanche deserticola because it is oily, fleshy and has flower-shaped lines. The topography of Alashan League is high in the south and low in the north, with an average elevation of 900- 1400 meters. The landform types include desert Gobi, mountains, low hills, lakes and undulating beaches, and the soil is affected by landform and bioclimatic conditions. It has obvious zonal distribution characteristics, and there are calcareous soil, calcareous desert soil and calcareous brown desert soil in turn from southeast to northwest. There are saline-alkali soil and swamp soil in lake basins and low-lying areas. The three famous deserts of Badain Jaran, Tengger, Wulanbuhe run through the whole territory, and the remaining veins of Yinshan Mountain are alternately distributed with large deserts, undulating beaches and denuded residual hills.
