How long it takes to cook potatoes depends on the size of the potatoes, the amount of potatoes, the type of pot used, and the size of the heat.
If you use an ordinary pot to cook a plate of small potato cubes, it will take about three to five minutes to cook over high heat. If you cook four or five medium ones in a regular pot, it will take fifteen to twenty minutes. Bring to a boil over high heat first and then reduce to low heat, but it's best to prick it with chopsticks halfway through.
