I have just been to Chengdu for two weeks, so I will just talk about Chengdu for reference: Chengdu’s urban area is mainly composed of pedestrian streets and historical sites: Wuhou Temple, Du Fu Thatched Cottage are must-sees, Jinli, and Kuanzhai Alley are also must-sees.
In this way, you can play all over the city.
Two days in the city: On the first day, I went to Wuhou Temple in the morning (ticket 80), and in the afternoon I visited Jinli (free). The two families are close to each other, and there is continuity. The snacks in Jinli are very famous and very delicious.
Three or five types of food, such as hot plate spicy tofu slices (you can check on Baidu), the average per capita is about 30. The next day, Du Fu Thatched Cottage (ticket 60) and Kuanzhai Alley (free) in the afternoon. You need to take a bus or take a taxi in between.
There are also snacks in Kuanzhai Alley, with an average consumption of about 20 per person.
Since your total trip is only 7 days, I would consider this option optional.
The essence of Chengdu’s natural scenery is found in surrounding counties and cities.
Mount Emei, Mount Qingcheng-Dujiangyan, and Leshan Giant Buddha are the first to visit Mount Emei. It takes at least two days to visit. The natural scenery is incomparable. Tickets and ferry tickets cost 150-200, and meals and accommodation on the top of the mountain cost 100-200.
On the first day, we mainly climbed to the mountainside to stay (the top of the mountain is too expensive and not cost-effective) to enjoy the low-level scenery. On the second day, we climbed to the top of Ten Thousand Buddhas to enjoy the high-level scenery, including going down the mountain.
Secondly, Dujiangyan has general natural scenery and convenient transportation. It can be reached by high-speed train in less than an hour.
It is very close to Qingcheng Mountain and has a rich atmosphere of Taoist culture.
There are many Taoist temples.
If you like traditional culture and history, you can go there.
Secondly, as an optional option, since you are pressed for time, spend your time on the best attractions.
