In late autumn, I came to Wuxi again, the quiet pearl of Taihu Lake, and accidentally visited the "Huishan Ancient Town". I really loved it beyond words.
The last time I came to Wuxi was a few years ago.
On the way from Shanghai to Nanjing, I suddenly wanted to find a place to kill some time, so I got off the bus at Wuxi Station, dragged a small suitcase on the bluestone road, and started wandering aimlessly.
At that time, the cherry blossoms in Yuantouzhu were just in full bloom, the magnificence of the Lingshan Buddha was fascinating, and Nanchan Temple was enjoying a leisurely afternoon... Wuxi has always given me a meticulous and leisurely atmosphere, and I could fill up the boat in the morning.
Enjoy the life of children and simple residents in the alleys on both sides of the river, a bowl of noodles to satisfy your morning hunger, a fragrant steamed dumpling with a sip of wine at noon, and a cup of tea and a play in the afternoon.
However, this time the destination was Huishan Ancient Town, which I had never been to before.
I have always heard people talk about this famous scenic spot, but I have never been interested in it. I have been to Xitang and Wuzhen. The definition of ancient towns to me is nothing more than merchants on both sides of the street selling complicated goods, small bridges, flowing water or crowded streets, and people.
It was crowded with people coming and going.
But this time, it may be a journey that subverts my concept of ancient towns.
There are many ancient houses, full of fireworks. To be honest, I have never liked late autumn, the cold weather, and the scenery of late autumn along the way. There are already bare tree trunks on both sides of the road, and there are only twos and threes of pedestrians on the road.
But until I saw the gate of Huishan Ancient Town, the red and green colors instantly attracted me. It felt like another world here.
It is still morning, and people coming and going are doing morning exercises, mixed with a few young people who get up early to exercise. With such good air, no wonder everyone comes here.
Unlike those well-known ancient towns where commercialization is deeply rooted in the bones, this place is full of the fireworks of the citizens.
Morning exercises, playing chess, drinking tea, chatting... the breath of life permeates the classical air.
Huishan Ancient Town, covering an area of ??200,000 square meters, is home to more than 100 ancestral halls, gardens and guild halls. In addition to the ancient building complex, the most attractive thing is the red leaves in late autumn.
People doing morning exercises seemed not to be afraid of the cold in late autumn, and everyone was enjoying the freshest air in the ancient town.
The aroma of breakfast is also wafting from both sides of the street. It's time to have breakfast.
People in Wuxi are also very particular about breakfast. A bowl of noodle soup, toppings, red soup and white soup must be carefully considered. The soy milk and fried dough sticks you order can also be eaten deliciously with an egg pancake.
A bowl of noodles and a basket of steamed dumplings warmed me up instantly.
As a gift of nature, there are several springs in the world that are the best in the world, but there is a unique spring in the ancient town of Huishan.
Is this second spring in the world a bit confusing?
This spring was personally tasted by Lu Yu in the Tang Dynasty of China and written into the "Tea Classic", and was then stamped and authenticated by Qianlong.
There were people sitting around the spring, just to see the beautiful scenery of autumn water and red leaves.
By the way, listen to the most original song "Two Springs Reflect the Moon" here.
The world-famous "Two Springs Reflecting the Moon" was born here, the second spring in the world. It is so ingenious that it makes people cry.
The red leaves in Erquan are full of yellow and really beautiful; Mr. A Bing's songs are full of infinite melancholy and lamentation, and they tell the story of life.
Jichang Garden is an ingenious work of art. Walking along the lakeside, you will arrive at Jichang Garden, the pinnacle of aesthetics in the history of gardens.
Emperor Qianlong was really fond of this garden. Whenever he came to Jiangnan for a tour, he loved to visit here.
It is said that the success of Jichang Garden lies in its "natural mountains, exquisite water, condensed garden, ancient trees, and ingenious scenery." After entering the door, I couldn't help but marvel at the artistic attainments of those masters.
The small garden and small scenery are vividly reflected here. The phrase "winding paths lead to secluded places" is a perfect description of this place. Towering red, green and yellow trees surround the entire Jichang Garden, completely isolating it from the outside world.
The scattered maple leaves in the lake complement the scenery in the entire garden, making people have to stop and savor it carefully.
There are also girls who like Hanfu. They can enjoy the autumn scenery here and merge with the classical gardens.
The incense is booming, and the ancient Ginkgo Temple walks out of Jichang Garden, bypasses Woyuntang and Yugong Valley, and comes to this thousand-year-old temple - Huishan Temple.
This place was founded in 423 AD. I have always heard that the pine stone bed and ancient ginkgo trees here are a must-see place. Unfortunately, I came a little early and the ginkgo trees were not yet yellow.
They say that ancient temples and ginkgo have always been a perfect match, and it’s true.
The breath of beauty has been multiplied.
The place is full of incense, solemn and quiet, harmonious and unified.
It is said that when you come to Wuxi, you must experience the food here.
After visiting these "check-in" attractions, it was already around noon before I knew it.
Not to mention the most famous pork ribs with crispy meat, rich bone aroma, thick juice and fresh taste, salty and sweet sauce ribs, Taihu smoked fish and crab meat dumplings, which one is not a delicacy that makes people want to eat?
Let’s talk about the simplest butter cake, which is inexpensive, homely and warm.
Wuxi people, everyone loves to eat.
