Senbei (English senbei or sembei) is a Japanese rice fruit. They come in all shapes, sizes and tastes, usually salty, but also sweet. Xianbei is often served as a casual snack with green tea and as a polite snack for visiting guests.
In China, Xianbei means jiānbǐng (pancake). There are all kinds of pancakes, such as Shandong pancakes and Tianjin pancakes. However, these actually exist in different foods. In China, scallops are more like burritos and pancakes, while in Japan, they are usually hard snacks that can be eaten in one bite rather than dinner. However, cookies similar to Japanese scallops can also be found in China. Its modern Chinese name is Xianbei (Pinyin: bexian), which reflects the pronunciation of "pancake" language.
