Changting County is located at 25°18′40″~26°02′ north latitude 05″, east longitude 116°00′45″~116°39′20″, located in western Fujian, at the strategic border between Fujian and Jiangxi. The southern section of the Wuyi Mountains is a remote mountainous area in Fujian. It is a famous old revolutionary area and a famous historical and cultural city.

Historical evolution
According to "Minutes of Reading History Fangyu", Changting County was established in the Tang Dynasty. "All water in the world is east, but Tingshui faces south alone, and south is the Ding position." The name of the county comes from Changting Village, because the county government was moved here, hence the name. Changting Village is named after Changting Creek within its territory.
In the 24th year of Kaiyuan of the Tang Dynasty (736), Fujian Economic Strategy envoys Kaifu and Fuzhou established Tingzhou in caves, and Changting County was established in Changting Village, the source of Kowloon water, which belonged to Tingzhou. In the first year of Tianbao (742), Tingzhou was renamed Linting County. In the first year of Qianyuan (758), it was renamed Tingzhou. At that time, the county government was attached to Zhouguo, and later moved to Dongfangkou (named County Jiling in the Song Dynasty) along with the state government. The county government is still attached to Guozhou. The fourth year of the Dali calendar (769). Then he moved to Baishi Village with the prefecture, which is where the county is now.
In the second year of Jingfu (893), Wang Chao conquered Fuzhou and claimed that Changting County belonged to Wang Chao. In the third year of Kaiping in the Later Liang Dynasty (909), Chao Di was crowned the King of Fujian. In the fourth year of Changxing in the Later Tang Dynasty (933), the King of Fujian Wang Yangou proclaimed himself emperor and changed his name to Longqi. Changting County still belonged to Fujian. In the fifth year of Yonglong in Fujian (943), Wang Yanzheng, the king of Fusha in Fujian, proclaimed himself emperor in Jianzhou. The country was named Yin and was changed to Tiande in Yuan Dynasty. In the second year of Tiande (944), Changting County belonged to Yin. In the third year (945), Yin died. Changting County belongs to the Southern Tang Dynasty.
In the eighth year of Song Kaibao's reign (975), the Southern Tang Dynasty fell. County people's Song Dynasty territory. In the second year of Yongxi's reign (985), Changting County belonged to Fujian Road. In the fifteenth year of Yuan Dynasty (1278), Tingzhou was renamed Tingzhou Road, and Changting County belonged to Fujian Xingzhongshu Province. In the eighteenth year (1281), land was granted to Princess Nangjiazhen. In the 19th year (1282), Fujian and Jiangxi provinces were merged and the Fujian Xuanwei Envoy Department was established. Changting County belonged to the Fujian Xuanwei Envoy Department.
In the first year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1398), Tingzhou Road was renamed Tingzhou Prefecture. In the second year (1399), Fujian Xingzhongshu Province was established, and Changting County belonged to Fujian Xingzhongshu Province. In the ninth year (1407), Zhongshu Province was reorganized into the Chengxuan Administrative Envoy Department, and Changting County belonged to the Fujian Chengxuan Administrative Envoy Department. The Qing Dynasty followed the Ming Dynasty system. Changting County has always been a county under the jurisdiction of Tingzhou, county, road and prefecture.
In the second year of the Republic of China (1913), the government was abandoned and rebuilt. Changting County belonged to Tingzhang Road and was under the jurisdiction of Fujian Province. In the eighth year (1919), the Fujian Army and the Japanese Army reached an agreement, and Changting County belonged to District 0. In the fourteenth year (1925), Fujian Province was copied.
In March 1929, the Red Army entered Changting and established the Changting County Revolutionary Committee. It was the first red county-level political power in western Fujian and southern Jiangxi. The Soviet Union was in Tufang and belonged to the Soviet Union in western Fujian. In October 1931, the Tingzhou City Soviet Union was established in Chengguan. In December, Xinting County was built from Nanyang, Caixi, Tongxian, Sheyi, Tufang, Zhongwu Village, Shuikou, Sanzhou, Zhuotian and other districts, and the county seat was located in Zhuotian. Hetian, Sidu, Gucheng, Changting Affiliated City, Tingdong, Tongfang, Zhangdi and other places are Changting County, and the county government is located in Hetian. Both the city and the county belonged to the Western Soviet Union. In March 1932, the Fujian Provincial Soviet Union was established in Tingzhou City; at the same time, Xinting County was abolished. Caixi and Tongxian were placed under Shanghang County, Nanyang was placed under Xinquan County, and the remaining districts were merged into Changting County. In October, the northeastern part of Changting County was divided to establish Tingdong County in front of the museum; in September 1933, part of Changting County near Tingzhou City was divided to establish Zhaozheng County, and the county government was established within the provincial Soviet 0, both of which belonged to the Fujian Provincial Soviet 0.
In November 1934 (the 23rd year of the Republic of China), the Red Army made a strategic shift and withdrew from the Central Soviet Area. Changting was once again under the jurisdiction of the National People's Government, and the Republic of China calendar was used. It was still collectively known as Changting County. It was under the Office of the Administrative Supervisor of the Eighth District of Fujian Province, and the commissioner was stationed in Ting. The following year, the People's Liberation Army of the seventh district of the province took over Changting County. On the 18th, the Changting County People's Government was established, under the Office of the Administrative Inspectorate of the Eighth District of Fujian Province. From 1951 to 1997, it was affiliated to the Longyan District Commissioner's Office. From May 1997 to present, it is affiliated to Longyan City at the prefecture level.
In 1998, a new commercial city neighborhood committee was established in Tingzhou Town; a new Huangmashe Village Committee was established in Datong Town; and a new Huangkeng Village Committee was established in Hetian Town. By the end of the year, Changting County had jurisdiction over 11 towns, 7 townships, 9 neighborhood committees, and 290 village committees.
