Wu 'an City is directly under the jurisdiction of Hebei Province and managed by Handan City. It is located in the south of Hebei Province, at the eastern foot of Taihang Mountain, at the junction of Shanxi and Hebei provinces, in the "overlapping area" of the two national strategies of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and Central Plains Economic Zone, and about 200 kilometers away from the four capital cities of Shanxi, Hebei, Shandong and Henan.
Wu 'an is an emerging city with industry as the main industry, and its mineral resources are mainly iron and coal mines. It is one of the 58 key coal-producing counties (cities) and one of the four iron-rich bases in China, with a total area of 1.806 square kilometers. According to the data of the seventh national census, as of 0: 00 1 1 on June 2020, the permanent population of Wu 'an was 8 1 163 1.
Wu 'an governs 13 town and 9 townships. It is a famous hometown of local operas, ancient smelting, millet and one of the top 100 cities in China in China. In 2006, UNESCO awarded Wu 'an the title of "Millennium Ancient County".
Location context
Wu 'an is located in the south of Hebei Province, between east longitude113 45' and north latitude114 22', and between north latitude 36 28' and 37 01'. It is adjacent to Fuxing District and Yongnian District of Handan City in the east, with Zishan as the boundary. It borders Cixian and Fengfeng mining areas in the south, and is bounded by Gushan, Tianjingzhai Mountain and Nandanao. It borders Shexian County and Zuoquan County in Jinzhong City, Shanxi Province in the west, and borders Qingyang Mountain, Wanshou Mountain and Qingyazhai.
It borders Shahe City in Xingtai City in the north and is bounded by Motianling, Rose Village and Huangmushan. The total area is 1806 square kilometers.
