The second ranking involves more than 2,000 universities in more than 90 countries and regions around the world. In addition to China and the United States, Japan (105), the United Kingdom (92) and India (81) have a larger number of shortlisted universities.

Although the top ten in the world are still occupied by British and American universities, six of the top ten in Asia are won by Chinese universities, with Tsinghua University ranking first.
