The entire food street looks like a shrunken ancient city.
The building complex has three floors, with a cross corridor in the middle. The top of the corridor is a curved glass roof, which closes the square city and connects it into one, forming a shared space.
There are four entrances to the four corridors. Each entrance has a gate tower with an arched door opening in the middle. There is a plaque 1.7 meters wide and 6.2 meters long on the door opening, with the words "Nanshi Food Street" engraved on it.
"The five large characters are composed of the handwriting of Wang Xizhi, a great calligrapher of the Jin Dynasty. The font is elegant and powerful, with flying charm.
The four gatehouses of the food street are imitations of Qing-style ancient buildings, 24.5 meters high and 16 meters wide.
The roof of the gatehouse is a wooden structure with double eaves.
The eight cornices and wing corners have the same appearance. On the head of the wing horns are glazed tiles with beasts, war beasts, dragons, phoenixes, lions and immortal animals.
The green glazed tile roof has two kissing beasts at both ends of the main ridge.
There are splendid colorful paintings on the foreheads, pads and beams under the eaves.
There is an archway plaque on each of the four gates of the food street. The south is the "Zhenyu" gate, the west is the "Xingge" gate, the north is the "Zhongsheng" gate, and the east is the "Huafu" gate.
The first couplet is "Revitalizing China".
The font of the door plaque is excerpted from the stele stickers of calligraphers Yan Zhenqing, Liu Gongquan, Ouyang Xun and Zhao Mengfu.
The meanings of the four archway names are "revitalizing and welcoming guests", "singing and dancing", "Zhongsheng is drunk" and "luxurious and delicious".
The eight raised corners of the pavilion's eaves are soaring in the air, stretched and elegant, echoing the four gate towers, and are well-proportioned, showing the dignity and splendor of the building.
What adds to the splendor of this palace-like building is the colorful lanterns.
There are more than 80 kinds of lamps, more than 6,000 units, and more than 20,000 lamps installed in the food street.
These lamps combine various styles from ancient and modern times, both at home and abroad, including bronze hexagonal chandeliers, hexagonal wall lamps, hexagonal garden lamps, and octagonal column lamps with rich ethnic colors, as well as modern crystal rod combination ceiling lamps, red cotton chandeliers, chrysanthemum chandeliers, and more.

Food street lights have different shapes and colors. On the lampshades made of black sand, sandblasting and grinding, there are many colors such as milky white, fiery red, colorless and transparent, and painted baked flowers.
At night, these competing lanterns illuminate the food street.
