Shengsi Archipelago

Introduction:

1. Shengsi Archipelago, namely Shengsi County, is located in the east of Hangzhou Bay and southeast of the Yangtze River estuary, and consists of hundreds of island groups at the confluence of Qiantang River and the Yangtze River estuary, including more than 44 large and small islands such as Dayangshan, Xiaoyangshan, Shenjiawan Island and Baodaozui Island, among which 16 are inhabited. Sijiaoshan, the largest island, covers an area of 21.2 square kilometers.

2. Shengsi Archipelago is the only national archipelago scenic spot in China, known as the "Fairy Mountain on the Sea", with the original ecological tourism characteristics such as "Bihai Qijiao, Jinsha Fishing Fire", and more than 5 scenic spots have been identified.

(1) Cultural relics and historic sites

This was once the forefront of the struggle against Japan and the Qing Dynasty. According to ancient records, there are nine major historical events in Chinese history, such as: Jian Zhen and the monk Liudu Fusang in the Tang Dynasty; Zheng He made seven voyages to the West in Ming Dynasty; At the end of the Ming Dynasty, Zheng Chenggong's expeditions to the southeast and other places all passed through Shengsi. Shengsi, an ancient land, has experienced vicissitudes, with both an ancient heritage and unbearable faults, which left a rich material and humanistic heritage to Shengsi. After the third national cultural relics survey, among the 66 immovable cultural relics registered in Shengsi County, there are 22 cultural relics protection units at all levels, including 1 at the national level, 2 at the provincial level, 2 at the municipal level and 17 at the county level. Most of the immovable cultural relics are ancient residential buildings in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China. The lighthouse and cliff stone carvings are more distinctive. These are the inheritance and testimony of ancestors who moved and cultivated this land for generations. What has been passed down to this day is an island with its own marine cultural characteristics.

(2) Fishery resources

Shengsi is one of the top ten fishing counties in China, located in the center of the famous Zhoushan fishing ground, with rich aquatic products resources, and is called "Donghai Fish Warehouse" and "Marine Ranch". It is rich in more than 5 kinds of marine life such as hairtail, yellow croaker, cuttlefish, eel, crab, shrimp, shellfish and algae. The modern fishery comprehensive zone of Ma 'an Islands was included in the second batch of 5 provincial-level modern agricultural comprehensive zones, becoming the first provincial-level modern fishery comprehensive zone in Zhejiang Province. Shengsi's mussel products have won the gold medal in the International Agricultural Expo and the Zhejiang Fishery Expo, and have been recognized as provincial-level green food, high-quality pollution-free products and provincial-level brand-name products, and the first "China Geographical Indication" collective trademark product. At the same time, our county has been awarded the title of "Hometown of Mussels in China" by the China Fishery Association, and it has the largest mussel industrialization base and deep-water cage culture base in the province, and is the supply base of fresh aquatic products in Ningbo, Shanghai and the Yangtze River Delta region. (3) Natural Port Area

Shengsi is an important combination port of Ningbo-Zhoushan Port, and it is also the core port area of Shanghai International Shipping Center, mainly including Yangshan Port Area, Sijiao Port Area and Lvhuashan Port Area.
