The earthen buildings in the village are built along the river and evenly distributed on both sides of the river. Because the stream in the village is S-shaped, there are exactly two earthen buildings at the bends at both ends of the stream, forming a Tai Chi diagram. Therefore, Taxia Village is also called "Tai Chi Water Town".

The river bank is built on a slope with high and low levels. The side facing the river is built with river pebbles as a wall. It has only one floor with ten bays. The central main building has three floors with thirteen bays. The two wings are composed of two floors and three floors.

It forms a square earth building with a low front and a high back, like a chair, so it is also called "Jiaoyi Building".
