Throw the leaves of Liquidambar formosana into a stone raft to fluff, scoop them out and put them in a basin for later use. When picking, it should be noted that the leaves of Liquidambar formosana, which are neither old nor tender, and the dyed rice flowers with yellow stamens are generally selected, so that the produced flower rice has good color and taste effects.

2. Dyeing: Cook the prepared dyed rice flowers, red bluegrass, purple bluegrass and mashed Liquidambar formosana leaves in the same way, boil out the juice, filter off the residue, and pour out the juice and put it in four pots respectively. When the water temperature in the basin drops to about 51℃, the washed glutinous rice is poured into the basin and stirred and soaked. After 5 hours, various bright colors have deeply soaked the rice quality, and the color of the rice has changed. The glutinous rice soaked in the juice of dyed rice flowers is yellow, the glutinous rice soaked in the juice of Liquidambar formosana leaves is black, and the glutinous rice soaked in the juice of red bluegrass and purple bluegrass is red and purple. White is the true color of rice. Just soak glutinous rice in clear water for a few hours. In this way, the color of the five-color flower rice is dyed. In the dyeing process, if the juice of Liquidambar formosana leaves is not strong enough, the dyed glutinous rice will be gray; If the temperature of the juice soaked in rice is too high and the soaking time is too long, it is easy to steam into thin flower rice. Therefore, it is very important to master the juice concentration, temperature and soaking time.

3. Steamed rice: The glutinous rice dyed in various colors is drained with a dustpan, and then it can be steamed in a steamer respectively. The placing method is to lay the black glutinous rice on the bottom layer along the retort, then put another color of glutinous rice on it, and so on until the five colors of glutinous rice are finished. In order to ensure the taste, you must not steam glutinous rice of different colors the same.

4. Blending: Pour the steamed flowered rice into a dustpan, and mix it evenly with a ladle and chopsticks, thus making colorful flowered rice with attractive colors and fragrant smell.
