The traditional food of Laba Festival includes Laba porridge, Laba cake, Laba tofu, Laba noodles and laba rice.
1. Laba porridge
In some northern cities, Laba Festival also has the custom of soaking Laba garlic. On the northern folk Laba, peeled garlic cloves are put into a clean jar, then old vinegar is poured in, sealed and pickled for several days, just in time for the Spring Festival.
As a result of soaking in vinegar, the pickled Laba garlic is green as a whole, like green jade, with a sour and spicy taste and a unique flavor. 2. Laba cake
Laba cake may be unheard of by many people. In fact, it is also a traditional food on Laba Festival in northern China, and it can be found occasionally in some time-honored restaurants in Beijing today.
Laba cake is similar to eight-treasure rice, which contains dates, sticky rice, red beans, black beans and other things. When you eat it, it smells like rice and dates. It is mellow and fragrant, and its rhyme is light and sweet. It is a rare delicacy.
3. Laba Tofu
During Laba season, in yi county, Anhui, every household has to make Laba Tofu. Tofu is made of small soybeans, and salt is put in the middle of the hole, and baked in the mild sun to make the salt slowly absorbed. In the local area, Laba tofu, also known as "vegetarian ham", can be used for fried meat, stewed meat or eaten alone, and is a good meal.
4. Laba noodles
In Guanzhong area of Shaanxi Province, every household has to eat a bowl of Laba noodles in Laba morning. Laba noodles are actually leek leaves made of noodles and red beans. It is necessary to soak the red beans for one night in advance. On Laba day, the red beans boil soup, and the noodles are cooked in the soup. Finally, the chopped green onion oil is poured in, and a bowl of delicious hot Laba noodles is ready. Of course, you can also add other halogens according to your preference.
5. laba rice
In Qinghai, laba rice, that is, wheat kernel rice, is popular in Laba Festival. On the seventh night of the twelfth lunar month, people will cook the newly ground wheat kernel with beef and mutton, and add green salt, ginger skin, pepper, tsaoko, Miao Xiang and other condiments, and cook it with slow fire overnight. It is said that the wheat kernels boiled overnight are extremely mellow and delicious.
