What are the must-visit attractions when visiting Hefei for the first time?

When people say that Hefei is a tourist desert, I am the first to raise my hands and disagree. This Hefei native has worked hard to compile some must-visit attractions when traveling to Hefei. Each attraction has its own characteristics. Those who are planning to travel to Hefei Baozi, hurry up~

1. Anhui Art Museum

If you have a strong interest in art, then I really recommend Anhui Art Museum to you! Located in Baohe District, Hefei City, you can get there directly by taking Metro Line 5. The transportation is super convenient. The opening hours are from 9 am to 5 pm. It is closed on Mondays, so don’t miss out.

The entire venue has six floors. You can first walk around the first to fifth floors, and then go to the first negative floor. After finally shopping around the first negative floor, you can go out directly without going back. I Personally, I think the most beautiful thing is the Japanese Ukiyo-e exhibition on the first floor. The paintings inside really make people sigh that "life is like a dream". They are super beautiful. There is also a beautiful light and shadow hall next to it.

The most outstanding photo of the spiral staircase on Xiaohongshu comes from here. There are them on every floor. People don’t even need to make any moves to get to that station, and it will look great. In addition, in the printmaking exhibition area, you can experience making prints by yourself. It is recommended to go to the open hall on the second floor to experience it. There are fewer people here, and there are more than a dozen printing plate patterns, so there is no need to queue.

2. Dashu Mountain Forest Park

For those who love sports and mountain climbing, Dashu Mountain Forest Park can be said to be a must-visit attraction. It is located in Shushan District, Hefei City. You can get there directly by taking Line 2. Next to it is Banbian Street. You can eat something to cushion your stomach before going up the mountain.

As a novice in sports, it took me about an hour to climb with my friends. Those with better athletic ability can basically reach the top in 30 minutes. The entire mountain road is not steep, it is just a winding mountain road in the middle. It will take a little time. It is recommended to wear comfortable sneakers and bring a bottle of mineral water.

In fact, Dashu Mountain Forest Park is an extinct volcano and a rare typical volcanic landform in the Jianghuai region. The green plants on the mountain are very rich. If you are lucky, you can also see wild boars, squirrels and Monkey etc. After climbing to the top, you can have a panoramic view of the entire Hefei city from the top of the mountain. It is super beautiful. Many friends come to climb Dashu Mountain at night to enjoy the panoramic view of Hefei under the dim lights.

3. Hechai 1972

Hechai is the first cultural and creative park in China that was transformed from an old prison site into a modern + retro art style. It is located in Baohe District, Hefei City. Take Metro Line 4 to Yaogong Temple, and then ride a bike to get there. This attraction requires no tickets and is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

There are several museums in Hechai, and basically each of them produces movies. The one I personally recommend the most is the Home Appliance Story Museum. This is the largest and most important exhibition hall in the entire park, showing the development history of Hefei home appliances. It includes Hefei home appliance stories, handmade artworks, and exhibition areas such as Hefei Scenic Street and Time Post Office.

As soon as you enter the Home Appliance Story Museum, walk to the left and you will see the Hefei Railway Station. There is also a small train where you can bring children to check in. There are also many retro-style attractions here, where you can take a lot of photos. The Time Post Office next to it allows you to write postcards and stamp them, which is super ceremonial~

4. Sanhe Ancient Town

If If you love the elegance of Jiangnan Ancient Town, then you might as well come to Sanhe Ancient Town. It is the only 5A attraction in Hefei. The ancient town is located in Feixi County, Hefei City. It takes about forty minutes to drive from the city. The ancient town does not require tickets, but some attractions inside require separate fees.

The entire ancient town is a combination of Hui-style architecture and small bridges and flowing water. The Jiangnan atmosphere is very strong. The more famous attractions include Yang Zhenning’s former residence, Wangyue Pavilion and the Three Rivers War Fengyun Pavilion. The entire ancient town is paved. They are all bluestone roads, which are very reminiscent of the Republic of China.

It is recommended that everyone try the special delicacy of the ancient town, Sanhe rice dumplings. It is made of rice flour into a dumpling wrapper, and the dumpling filling contains pork belly, rice white shrimp, dried tofu, etc.

They are much larger than ordinary dumplings. After being deep-fried, the dumplings are golden in color, crispy on the outside, soft, glutinous and tender, and very delicious~
