The Origin and History of Zhongguancun
When Zhongguancun is mentioned, people will immediately associate it with high technology. So, how did the name "Zhongguancun" come from? The following is the origin and history of Zhongguancun that I have compiled for you. Welcome to read the collection.

Zhongguancun, known as the "Silicon Valley" of China, is located between the Northwest Third Ring Road and the Northwest Fourth Ring Road, next to Tsinghua University and Peking University.

Zhongguancun is the first IT in China. When Zhongguancun is mentioned, people will immediately associate it with high technology. However, a few decades ago, it was still a desolate cemetery, most of which were eunuchs' graves. During the Ming Dynasty, eunuchs began to buy "righteous land" in Zhongguancun to form their own burial place. The lonely eunuch who left the palace lived here. Their lives depend on the donation of rich eunuchs. They usually visit the tombs of eunuchs buried here, burn incense and pray. Because eunuchs in Ming and Qing dynasties were called "middle officials", they were called "middle official graves".

There is also a saying that since the Ming Dynasty, eunuchs have built temples and old-age manors here, and because they were called "Chinese officials" at that time, they called this place "Chinese official village". Today, in the courtyard to the north of Peking University Physics Building, there is a eunuch temple offering sacrifices and a eunuch statue called Gangbing.

With the changes of history, there have been some appellations that are homophonic with "middle officials", such as Guan Zhong, Guan Zhong, Guan Zhonger and Guan Zhongtun. There are also many legends about how Zhongguancun evolved from a "middle official" to a "middle customs". First of all, it is 19 13, and the use of the place name "Guanzhong" can already be seen on the 25000-scale map of Xijing. People have different views on this title. Some people think that at the end of the Qing Dynasty, when the relevant personnel compiled the map, the word "middle official" was changed from "elegance" to "middle custom" because it suggested that eunuchs were not very pleasant to listen to. Others said that when Empress Dowager Cixi celebrated her birthday, she built a city gate here to celebrate her birthday, hence the name.

To be honest, Zhongguancun was officially named after liberation. After liberation, China Academy of Sciences was built here, and it was renamed Zhongguancun at the suggestion of Mr. Chen Yuan, President of Beijing Normal University, because the word "official" was not good. Another story is that when the editorial department of Geography of China, affiliated to the Institute of Geography of China Academy of Sciences, moved to the new address of China Academy of Sciences in 1953 and printed the first batch of envelopes and stationery at the new address, Yuan Baocheng, the administrative officer in charge of this matter, mistook "Zhongguantun" for "Zhongguancun" in oral communication, which was in the period of "three evils against five evils". In order to avoid the accusation of "waste", the envelope must be replaced.

Hailong Building, Dinghao Building, Science and Trade Building, Sinosteel Building and other office buildings constitute the most conspicuous buildings. The word "Zhongguancun" is very famous in the high-tech field in China and even in other fields in China.

The Historical Development of Zhongguancun

Zhongguancun National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone originated from "Zhongguancun Electronic Street" in the early 1980s. The CPC Central Committee and the State Council attached great importance to the development and construction of Zhongguancun, and the State Council made five major decisions. 1In May, 1988, the State Council approved the establishment of Beijing New Technology Industry Development Experimental Zone, which was the predecessor of Zhongguancun Science Park.

1In May 1988, Zhongguancun became the experimental zone for the development of high-tech industries in Beijing, which was the predecessor of Zhongguancun Science Park. In August, 1999 was renamed Zhongguancun Science Park, and Zhongguancun became a banner of innovation and development. Facing the future, it is necessary to speed up the entry into scientific and technological innovation centers with global influence.

1In June, 1999, the State Council approved the Request for Instructions on Accelerating the Construction of Zhongguancun Science Park, which was an important strategic decision made by the China Municipal Government to implement the strategy of rejuvenating the country through science and education and enhance China's innovation ability and comprehensive national strength.

In August 2005, the State Council made eight decisions on supporting and strengthening Zhongguancun Science Park.

In March 2009, the State Council approved the construction of Zhongguancun National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone, demanding that Zhongguancun be built into a globally influential scientific and technological innovation center and an important carrier for the construction of an innovative country, which opened a new chapter in the development of Zhongguancun.

20111On October 26th, the State Council approved the Development Plan of Zhongguancun National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone (20 1 1-2020), which further clarified the strategic positioning and development ideas of Zhongguancun Demonstration Zone in the next decade. 20 1 1 China's Twelfth Five-Year Plan clearly puts forward that "Beijing Zhongguancun will be built into a scientific and technological innovation center with global influence".

After more than 20 years of development and construction, Zhongguancun has gathered high-tech enterprises represented by Lenovo and Baidu, and formed a high-tech industrial cluster represented by electronic information, biomedicine, energy and environmental protection, new materials, advanced manufacturing and aerospace, with R&D and service as the main forms, forming a unique development pattern of "one district with many parks" and becoming a high-end industrial functional zone across administrative regions in the capital.

Zhongguancun Science Park is the region with the most intensive resources of science, education, intelligence and talents in China, with nearly 465 438+0 institutions of higher learning and 206 research institutes represented by Peking University, China Renmin University and Tsinghua University. There are 67 key laboratories, 27 engineering research centers and 28 engineering technology research centers. There are 26 university science parks and 34 overseas students' pioneer parks.

The Zhongguancun Cuihu Science Park under construction is adjacent to the Cuihu Wetland Park in the north of Haidian District. At present, Cuihu Park covers an area of 700 hectares and has introduced more than 400 kinds of wetland plants and animals to form a wetland landscape. There are also lotus ponds, reed ponds, wild wetland plants exhibition areas, waterfowl protection areas, wetland ecological agriculture parks and ecological waters around the park. The park has a beautiful environment, clear lakes and abundant aquatic plants, which is quite attractive in the south of the Yangtze River. It is the first choice for migratory birds to come to Beijing for the winter or move south.

In this picturesque place, a Zhongguancun Cuihu Science and Technology Park, which integrates innovation and creativity, advances with high-end, is on the rise. Here, elites gather and have unlimited vitality. This is a gathering place for the dynamic life of urban elites, and it is also an elite life circle that Jade Cloud Map will create here, aiming at creating a different life for the people with high knowledge and high intelligence who live and work here. According to the plan, Zhongguancun Cuihu Science and Technology Park is one of the three main functional groups planned in the northern part of Haidian, and it will be a diamond-grade treasure in the core area in the next decade. Zhongguancun Cuihu Science Park is adjacent to Shangzhuang West Road in the east, Sixth Ring Road in the west, Jingmi Diversion Canal in the south and Cuihu South Road in the north, covering the former Zhongguancun Environmental Protection Park and Zhongguancun Innovation Park. The park covers an area of 1.873 hectares and a building area of1.2000 square meters. The overall planning and construction concept is "wisdom lake, ecological lake and humanistic lake".
