The biggest attractions of Yongning Ancient Town are the uncommercialized old streets, the fanzilou buildings on both sides, and the less crowded seaside.
In fact, another thing that less people pay attention to is that historically Yongning was an acropolis, an ancient acropolis as famous as Tianjin Wei and Weihai Wei.
Foodies, take note, there are a variety of southern Fujian specialty snacks here, waiting for you to take your time and explore.
If you have one day, you can stroll around the old streets here in the morning and see various architectural styles, stone houses, ancient houses, temples, and beautiful fanzai buildings (Ningdong Building, Jiyang Fanzai Building, Batu Building,
There is also my favorite Yangjia Building, which is a representative example of typical Fanzilou architecture.) It is a place not to be missed by those who like architecture.
Wandering around Yongning Ancient Acropolis, it doesn’t matter if you get lost, the alleys are all connected.
The must-visit spots in the old street recommend Xibaolou Public Welfare Library, Dongyunge Former Residence, Ningdong Tower, and Yongning City God Temple.
In the afternoon, you can take a local three-wheeled motorcycle to Hougangang Village to see the Yang Family Building, also called Liuye Pavilion. It can be said to be the largest fanzi building in Quanzhou. The main Western-style building is "Liuye Pavilion", with three buildings and five rooms.
It is a Qing Dynasty official-style mansion, a later-built foreign-style building, Huixiang, Chengtou building, pond, walls, etc. It is commonly known as it because of its large number of rooms.
Then go to various seasides. In Yongning, surrounded by the sea on three sides, you can choose from Guanyin Mountain, Gold Coast, Hongta Bay, and Meilin Port. I personally recommend going to Guanyin Mountain because there are fewer people, haha.
You can go to the market to buy some seafood for processing. Especially October and November are the seafood seasons, which is economical and affordable.
Then go to the Xibaolou Public Welfare Library in the evening to read calligraphy or listen to Nanyin (there are performances every night, get close to the world's intangible cultural heritage, and listen to China's oldest music).
This is a new life in the ancient town. It is suitable to stop and slowly experience this historical seaside town.
If you have enough time, you can also go to Gusao Pagoda, Huxiu Temple and Chaotian Temple, Guokeng Hui Village and other attractions.
Recommended snacks: Atan fried buns, Meilingang taro balls, Acha ginger duck, and beef soup.
Mainly there is endless seafood.
Transportation: Take the bus to Shishi Long-distance Bus Station (must go to this station), then take bus No. 5 to Yongtou.
There is a direct shuttle bus from Quanzhou Railway Station to the garment car. From the garment city, take bus No. 2 or No. 18 to Shishi Long-distance Bus Station, then take bus No. 5 to Yongning Bus (4 yuan). If you don’t want to go around so much, you can take a taxi to Yongning for about 35 yuan. From
It costs about 60 to take a taxi from Jinjiang Airport to Yongning, and carpooling should be cheaper.
