2 pounds of chestnuts and 1 bowl of purified water 1 pair of scissors, a few pieces of yellow rock sugar, 1 tablespoon of white sugar, 1 tablespoon of cooking oil, 1 rice cooker

1. All ingredients are ready. Put the chestnuts you bought back into a basin, pour in an appropriate amount of water, wash them and set aside.

2. Use a knife to score the surface of the cleaned chestnuts and put them into a bowl for later use.

3. Pour the prepared chestnuts into the rice cooker, add a few pieces of yellow rock sugar, 1 spoon of white sugar, and 1 spoon of cooking oil, stir well and set aside.

4. Pour the stirred chestnuts into 1 bowl of drinking water, cover the pot and select the cooking button.

5. Wait for the rice cooker to cook until it trips. Turn to the keep warm button and prepare a wire rack. Place the cooked sugar-fried chestnuts on the wire rack to air dry naturally and serve on a plate.

Tips:

1. Do not add too much water to boil chestnuts. The amount of water should be 2/3 of the chestnuts, otherwise it will become boiled chestnuts.

2. If you don’t like sugar and cooking oil, you can omit it, but I think the taste will be better if you add it.

3. If you don’t have a rice cooker at home, you can use an oven.

4. When scraping chestnuts with scissors, the blade should be deeper, otherwise the final chestnut will not crack easily.
