I feel fruitful when I come to Urumqi.
I am amazed at the variety of elm trees, and I like the breeze in being relaxed and free in summer, and I am infatuated with the fluttering snow in early September.
I will always be attracted by the languages and costumes of various ethnic groups on the street, impressed by the tall poplars, resounded by the joy of fruit harvest, shocked by the charming Tianshan Mountains covered with snow and ice, and dazzled by the golden autumn leaves. Although I have never been to an authentic food street, when I walk through the streets of Urumqi at will, I will never lack the fragrance of all kinds of food. The streets here are lined with traditional delicacies of various ethnic groups, such as noodles and lungs, caviar, saute spicy chicken, pepper chicken, spicy mutton hoof, roasted steamed stuffed bun, rack meat, red willow kebabs, mixed noodles, pilaf and so on.
The baked wheaten food on both sides of the street is also relatively complete. There are freshly baked bread, sweet and dry barkun biscuits, and various kinds of baked naan ...
A few times, I inadvertently walked into a small street. Stores on both sides are almost filled with fruits and dried fruits, and one or several barbecue stoves occasionally appear in the center of the street. The fat mutton is bubbling with oil and hung on an iron shelf, showing golden yellow or golden red, emitting an attractive aroma.
There are many flavors of mixed noodles in Urumqi. But it is said that in Xinjiang, Toksun's mixed noodles have long enjoyed a good reputation. I remember on the way from Urumqi to Korla, passing through the Toksun area, I saw a big line on the advertising wall on the roadside: the best mixed noodles are in Toksun!
Urumqi baked buns are also quite distinctive. But different shops have slightly different tastes. Some well-known steamed stuffed bun shops need to queue up long every day to taste them.
every time you taste delicious food, you can always get something. I often make some dishes and pasta with simple ingredients and operation for myself and my family with gratitude.
