Lecce team is famous for its vacillation, often just promoted, and then relegated in the following season. Lecce's experience in Serie A made them not optimistic about their future. They played in Serie A for seven seasons, and three of them ended up at the bottom of the points list. During the 1993-1994 season, Lecce set the highest record of losing in a single season in Serie A: 26 out of 34 games, and the highest ranking in the history of the team in Serie A was the ninth, which was created in the 1988-1989 season.

Lecce is the only Serie A club in southern Italy, and their goal in the new season is to avoid relegation. The joining of Stovini, popescu and Cirillo has effectively strengthened the strength of the defence.
