Singing this discordant nursery rhyme ushered in the Dragon Boat Festival again.

The Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional festival. There is such a discordant nursery rhyme in Hebei, and the Dragon Boat Festival kicks off on the first day of May. Starting from the first day of the new year, every household starts to get busy preparing supplies for the Dragon Boat Festival. Although there are not many, the most coveted ones are naturally the delicacies during the Dragon Boat Festival.

When it comes to the Dragon Boat Festival, the first thing that comes to mind is Zongzi. The rice dumplings are cute and cute, with salty and sweet flavors. I'm not interested in meat rice dumplings, but I have a special liking for glutinous rice rice dumplings, especially the big dates inside. The ones I make at home are always big. The strong aroma of glutinous rice mixed with the fragrance of eggplant leaves is refreshing. Take a bite and hold it in your mouth. The more you chew, the more delicious it becomes. During the Dragon Boat Festival, grandma would make N rice dumplings for me, the greedy cat, to eat. There are also people shouting about it on the street, but the rice dumplings they sell are much smaller than those at home, but they are very expensive. The dates in the glutinous rice dumplings are not big, so it seems that just inserting two peanut-sized ones will be enough. Sometimes when I feel hungry, I go to buy one on the street to satisfy my craving, but there is no lingering fragrance anymore.

In addition to the fragrant rice dumplings, wearing new clothes is also a great sight. Boil a large pot of hot water with Schisandra chinensis and bathe, then put on new clothes, which will make you feel extra refreshed. Although I am still wearing the same clothes that I have worn N times, the scent is still irresistible.

We don’t see dragon boat racing here, which is a big regret during the Dragon Boat Festival. But we soon found new fun - holding an egg-breaking contest. During the Dragon Boat Festival, the eggs are no longer eaten, but are smashed, or used to compare which one is harder, or used as bullets to aim and shoot. When the egg-breaking contest came to an end, leaving only devastation on the ground and a fishy stench, it was indeed endless fun.

On the day of the Dragon Boat Festival, my mother would carefully weave baskets with strings. According to past customs, she would weave 8 layers. After grandma boiled the eggs, she would take out the 3 smoothest ones. Place one on the bottom layer, followed by the peach. There are 3 pieces of each type, and 6 layers are used. The second level is a tiger guarding these things. Finally, it was hung at the door, as the elders said, to commemorate Qu Yuan. When she took it down, she packed the basket and put it in a box to be reunited with her sisters who were born before her.
