Kitaro was born in Toyohashi, Aichi, Japan on 1953. He taught himself the guitar in high school and formed an albatross band with his friends. Then, he joined the "Traveling Family Band" founded by Miyashita, and toured all over the world. 1972 I met KlausSchulze of "TangerineDream" in Germany and felt the magic of electronic synthesizer.
It can be said that Kitaro, who began to study electronic synthesis music as early as 1970s, is the chief representative of the new era music, and his works have a unique style of pioneering Japanese new era music.
The oriental charm of combining classical, pop and jazz into electronic music, which is different from western music, has made Kitaro recognized by more and more listeners in the world since the first work Paradise came out (of course, many people are more familiar with his music than himself).
From 65438 to 0978, Kitaro began his activities as an independent musician and released his first record, Paradise. 1979, The Good Earth and Oasis were released. In 1980, Kitaro was the music producer of the NHK program "Silk Road", which was well received. This theme song written by Kitaro was loved by everyone and became one of Kitaro's masterpieces. In the same year, he released his works "Silk Road 1" and "Silk Road 2", and the live recorded performances were also well received. Kitaro became popular at once. In, he released the records Dunhuang and Qi, and toured 30 cities in Japan and Asia the following year, becoming the first Japanese musician to perform in Taiwan Province Province and Chinese mainland.
The launch of the Silk Road series and the publication of the famous Dunhuang have made domestic audiences feel more cordial. With a soft spot for China-themed music, it is no wonder that Mr. Kitaro has always insisted that "China culture is the root of Japanese culture".
1980, Kitaro signed a contract with Ji Fen Records (his current record company is DomoRecords), and Kitaro's album officially entered the United States. In 1993 and 1997, Kitaro completed two pieces of music: Heaven and Earth and Song Dynasty. The former won the Golden Globe Award for Best Film Score, while the latter won the Golden Horse Award in Taiwan and the Hong Kong Academy Award. During his musical career, Kitaro was nominated for Grammy Awards many times. Kitaro has never received music education, and even can't read the staff. He is used to recording music in his own way (a bit like a painting), but he is indeed a versatile musician. Besides playing guitar, bass, keyboard, flute and many other musical instruments, he also composes, arranges and makes music.
Kitaro's later style is different from his early one, and his musical instruments are more widely used. Some people say that he lacks the tranquility of his early years. However, no matter how his style changes in the past, present and future, Kitaro's intention to create music and his concern for nature will never change.
Millennium queen 1982
The theme song of the cartoon movie "Love in the Universe" of the same name is the most sober tune in this record. When it is played live, Kitaro plays it alone, and the synthesizer is only used to play one tune, which is unique in the concert in Kitaro.
