Chaozhou and Shantou are two different cities.
Chaozhou, located in the middle and lower reaches of Hanjiang River, is a port city on the eastern coast of Guangdong Province. It borders Zhao 'an County and Pinghe County in Fujian Province in the east, Jiedong District in Jieyang City in Guangdong Province in the west, Fengshun County and dapu county in Meizhou City in the north, and the South China Sea in the south and Shantou City in the south.
Shantou city is located in the east of Guangdong province, at the southern end of Hanjiang River Delta, with Chaozhou city in the north, Jieyang city in the west and the South China Sea in the southeast.
2. Different dialects
Chaozhou dialect is Chaozhou dialect and Hakka dialect.
