1. Nanxi Academy is located at the foot of Gongshan Mountain in the south of Youxi County, and was originally the Zheng Yizhai House of Yi people. In the fifth year of Xuanhe in the Northern Song Dynasty (1123), Zhu Song, the father of Zhu Xi, was appointed as the commandant of Youxi County, and lived here after he left the office. Zhu Xi was born here in the fourth year of Jian Yan in the Southern Song Dynasty (1131). After Zhu Xi's death, Li Xiu, the county magistrate, donated money in the first year of Jiaxi (1237) to build buildings here, such as Wengong Temple, Weizhai Temple, Half-acre Square Pond and Zundao Hall, to worship Zhu's father and son. Bao? In the first year (1253), Song Lizong granted "Nanxi Academy". In the first year of Yuan Dynasty (1341), two temples were built separately, which were repaired and expanded frequently after Ming and Qing Dynasties. The academy is simple and solemn, with a construction area of 1111 square meters, including Weizhai Temple, Guanshudi, Yuxiufang and Yuxiuting. There is a plaster statue of Zhu Xi in the center of the main hall, and there are four calligraphy boards of Zhu Zi on both sides: "the foundation of starting a family by studying, the foundation of managing the family by diligence and thrift, and the foundation of protecting the family by reason." The walls are hung high, tracing back to the portraits of eight generations of ancestors. The square pond in the academy is Zhu Xi's childhood reading place. Zhu Xi's poem "Thoughts on Reading Books" says: "When half an acre of square pond is opened, the sky is shining and clouds are hovering; Ask the canal to be so clear, because there is a source of living water. " Among them, the "half acre square pond" refers to this place. In the 11th year of Hongzhi in the Ming Dynasty (1498), Fang Pu, the magistrate of a county, presided over the expansion and deepening of a half-acre square pond, and built a pavilion on the pond, which was named "Living Water Pavilion" through a stone bridge. Today, it has been restored. On the left side of the academy, there are two ancient camphor trees, with towering branches and a height of more than 31 meters. The tree circumference is 11.8 meters and 7.8 meters respectively. According to legend, Zhu Xi planted them when he was young, and he was called "Shen Lang Zhang" (Shen Lang is Zhu Xi's nickname). In 1987, the local government turned this place into a park with an area of more than 1611 square meters. Nearby, there is a stone tablet of "Wei Zhai Jiu Zhi" written by Zhu Xi when he returned to Youxi in the seventh year of Song Dynasty (1171) and engraved in the early years of the Republic of China. The tablet is about 2 meters long and 1.7 meters wide, and its brushwork is vigorous and the brushwork is flying. Records of Nanxi Academy were compiled in Ming and Qing Dynasties.
