Karachi (Pakistan’s largest city and port)
The final source of the Indus River is in Tibet; it begins at the confluence of the Sengge River and the Gar River. Then it flows northwest through Kashmir south of the Karakoram Mountains, and then gradually bends southward and flows out of the mountains between Peshawar and Rawalpindi. The Indus River here has a large dam (Tarbela Dam) forming the Tarbela Reservoir. The rest of its path to the ocean is over the plains of Punjab and Sind, where the current slows down and the rivers become criss-crossed. It then flows through Hyderabad and finally flows out to sea in a large delta southeast of Karachi.
