Tiefo Town is a provincial-level key protected ancient town. Located 36 kilometers west of Zizhong County, the ancient town was built in the fifty-third year of Qingganlong (1788). The settlement is like a sickle, with a population of about 2000. In the Qing Dynasty, the east-west direction of the old street was slightly curved, and it was divided into three layers according to the mountain situation. Nine stone steps go up the street and pass through three gates, one layer at a time, with distinct layers.
Residential buildings still maintain the architectural characteristics of the mid-Qing Dynasty. Most units have balconies or gardens. Most houses are made of wood or brick with tenon structure. Eaves, arches and overhangs are beautifully carved. The wind-fire wall extends to the edge of the street, the upper brick bucket arch extends to the center of the street, and the eaves beams, blue tile roofs and eaves are carved with patterns. The new street built in 19 18 extends directly to the south, with unique architecture. Judging from the applicable function of ancient town architecture, it is obviously carefully planned by predecessors. The street twists and turns along the slope of the stone ladder, with some platforms for rest and swinging in the middle. A beautiful bank wall stands between houses, and some houses are from tiles to walls, from windows to roofs. Everything is so harmonious and natural, which is a special case of building a town on a slope.
Zizhong Confucian Temple, a provincial cultural relic protection unit, was built in the 9th year of Qing Daoguang (AD 1829). Sitting facing south, the building area is 5000 square meters, imitating the pattern of Confucius Temple in Qufu, Shandong. There are Wan Ren Palace Wall, Moon Pool inside and outside, Lingxing Gate, Dacheng Gate, Bell and Drum Tower, East and West Wing, Dacheng Hall and Chongsheng Temple. Glazed tiles, red walls and yellow tiles, resplendent and antique, are well preserved so far and are famous tourist attractions.
Confucius was a great thinker, politician and educator in ancient China, and also the founder of Confucianism. His contribution to the Chinese nation's ideology, culture, education and politics is enormous and deserves people's respect. In addition, all previous dynasties awarded the highest titles of "Master" and "King of Wenxuan", so Zhou Zhou built Confucius Temple and counties to offer sacrifices to Confucius.
