Diaojiaolou, as a unique traditional residential building in southwest China, can be traced back to before the Eastern Han Dynasty. Because there are many mountains in Chongqing and the land is tight, the ancestors took advantage of the mountains and adapted to local conditions. They hung imaginary houses with wooden strips and bamboo squares, and built buildings on mountains with steep walls.
2. The cliff is green
Hongyadong is located on the first floor of Hongyadong Scenic Area and is listed as one of the "Twelve Scenes of Old Bayu". The area around Hongyadong used to be lush with trees, so many trees could store water. A small stream oozes from the forest, flows along Dayanggou and Huixian Bridge to the vicinity of Hongyadong, forming a waterfall, falling on the cliff, and then converging into a trickle from top to bottom along the rock. In the rainy season, water drips from the cliff in dribs and drabs, and the water drops are reflected by the sun like green pearls and jasper, so some scholars call them "dripping green on the cliff".
3. The two rivers meet.
The two rivers meet, and the Yangtze River and Jialing River meet at Chaotianmen Wharf in Chongqing, forming a symbolic beauty with the "natural characteristics" and "core temperament" of a landscape city. The cliffs of the two rivers are densely covered with cliffs and bird's nests. As long as there are sandy cliffs, there may be cliff swallows nesting, but they have higher requirements for the environment and usually choose places with few people and rich aquatic plants.
4. exotic street
Exotic Street is a small part of the overall landscape of Hongyadong, located on the 9- 10 floor (for many people, it is the 1-2 floor below the platform), where there are gourmet restaurants from all over the world, as well as river view cafes. It is near the river, and you can enjoy delicious food and see the river view.
5. Hongya Group Carvings
Hongya group sculpture is located in the balcony square in the center of the city. The main sculpture is "Memory Mountain City" created by Guo Xuanchang, which is about13m high and 8m wide. It is a giant brass sculpture. The base of the sculpture is the cliff by the river in old Chongqing, and a diaojiao building stands tall on the cliff, which reproduces the customs along the river in old Chongqing.
