Pharmacological action ① Diuretic effect: Corn stigma has diuretic effect on both human and rabbits, which can increase chloride ion excretion, but the effect is weak. The methanol-insoluble part of its water extract (A) has the strongest diuretic effect after dialysis, and it has obvious effect no matter oral, subcutaneous or intravenous administration. The diuretic effect is mainly outside the kidney, and the effect on the kidney is very weak. ② Effect on circulatory system: Intravenous injection of decoction in anesthetized dogs has obvious hypotensive effect, but it has no hypotensive effect on dogs with chronic carotid bridge.
