Nephropteris is a nephropteridaceae plant, which has many names, such as Pteris rotundus, Pennisetum, and Phoenix Egg. Its plants are very tall and can generally grow to about 150 cm. Nephropteris is usually epiphytic or native. Its plants are straight and covered with a layer of brown scales, which looks very strange.
Characteristics of nephropteris:
The leaves of Dryopteris nephrolepis are relatively long and narrow, generally linear or narrowly lanceolate, and the leaves are alternate, so the ornamental value is very good. The most special place of nephropteris is its underground part. There are "golden eggs" in the underground part of nephropteris, which are called "phoenix eggs".
Phoenix eggs are not big, and their skins are fluffy, which looks particularly rough, but when they are mature, they have no fluff and look particularly beautiful. Phoenix eggs can actually be eaten raw, but the taste is relatively light, so not many people like to eat them.
