African ostriches live in deserts or dry grasslands. They are not found in places with dense trees or high grass. Ostrich's diet is very diverse, including plant leaves, seeds, flowers and buds. They also eat insects and particularly small rodents. Ostriches often move together with some large herbivores such as zebras and antelopes, and they already have a very mature mutually beneficial cooperative relationship. These large animals can drive away insects and rodents for the ostriches to catch, and the ostriches will help them stand guard and will call the police as soon as they encounter danger.
